FAQ
About the Short-term joint research proposal
Q. What is the research in different field?
A. For example, a life engineering student will study rocket combustion at JAXA and analyze images of the Subaru Telescope for deep space exploration.
After becoming a researcher, you will often try research in a completely different field.
Therefore, in the application form, we will evaluate the proposals that are being challenged in places that seem to be far from your research field.
Proposals in areas that are too close to your current specialty may be undervalued.
Q. After adoption, will the institutions that conduct short-term research follow the application form?
A. The application form is just a project proposal. The actual research institution will be decided in consultation with the faculty members of this project,
taking into consideration the students' own knowledge, interests, matching, etc.
Q. Is it possible to conduct research at research institutes other than the five research institutes in the Tama area?
A. It is possible to make a proposal in the application form.
However, the purpose of this project is to help you build your future career at a research institute in a "different field" that is far from your research field.
We believe it will allow you to see things from different angles.
Q. What does "We do not strongly demand detailed matching with partner researchers." on the website mean?
A. You do not need to discuss the research content proposed in the application form with the partner research institution in advance.
We evaluate your application in terms of original ideas and challenges.
Q. We will be doing short-term projects at two research institutes for half a year, but during that time, can we do our own specialized research?
A. Of course, there are days when you do not go to the other institution.
It depends on the research institution and situation. In the meantime, it is possible to have your research proceed in parallel with your own research.
